A Jazz Fest favorite, Lounge is managed by Northshore impresario (Abita Mystery House) John Preble, who’s been known to contribute lyrics and his own set of wacky sensibilities to Lounge’s songs, which include titles such as “I Remember the Night Your Trailer Burned Down” and “10 Foot Woman.” The show’s in Covington’s Fuhrmann Auditorium. Travel with your pooches? Mandeville slated for Northshore's first dog park
Dog lovers find it hard to leave their pets behind when they travel, so many don’t. More hotels these days are allowing pets and many cities have dog parks where dogs can safely play off-leash. A group of Northshore volunteers is spearheading the effort to launch the area’s first dog park with the help of the Pelican Park sports complex in Mandeville. The park has donated 3 acres of land to be used for a dog park, now in fundraising stages. Get updates and info on upcoming events such as the monthly Yappy Hour at Ruby’s Roadhouse at www.PelicanBarkPark.org.
